Medical Training
Medical Training
As you are well aware of, the field of medicine is extremely broad. This is why particular courses are offered to meet the stipulations of the industry. There are medical training courses specializing in medical transcription, medical billing, medical coding, dental assisting, dental hygiene, ultrasonography, radiology, therapy, nursing, so on, and so forth.
To this day, there are no federal requirements when it comes to the qualifications of the medical flight team. This, however, does not mean that anybody in the medical field can be a part of a medical air transport group. There is the matter of special medical training, which is usually provided by the medical air transport company.
The medical training involves a refresher course on physiology, medical terminology, infection control, and other basic stuff. Expect to hear a lot about clinical responsibilities. Besides these, the medical training also covers administrative work. Take bookkeeping and record filing as examples.
The medical training for medical air transport team is not limited to the medical and administrative aspects. Before somebody can be a part of the medical flight team, he or she needs to have some basic knowledge on aircrafts in case something happened to the pilot. The scenario is unlikely since there are also maintenance technicians aboard, but as they say, better safe than sorry.
